With 2018 a distant memory, we asked Island Athlete and Ironman champion Belinda Granger about the year that was, her goal for 2019 and Belinda's advice on how to get super fit in 2019
What was your highlight of 2018?
My highlight of 2018 was travelling over to Queenstown, NZ with my husband and competing in the Motatapu Off-road Marathon. It is by far the most spectacular run course in the world! We are actually returning again this year to do it again.
What has been your favourite type of training last year and why?
My favourite training without a doubt is F45. I train at F45 Noosa every day except Sunday. I love all of the sessions there but my absolute favourite would have to be Athletica. I also always look forward to my long runs on a Sunday with my girlfriends. We have a fab little running group.
What do you love about Your Island Supply Leggings
I love so many things about my YIS leggings- most importantly, the fit. They never slip and they are just so comfortable but also so versatile. I don’t just wear them in the gym. I also run in them and walk in them. I love all of the the prints and I’m a firm believer of ‘look good....feel good’.
What’s your best advice for people looking to be super fit in 2019
Don’t try and go out ‘all guns blazing’. Create a training routine that is realistic and doable day in and day out. The key to getting fit is consistency- sticking to a routine not just for a few weeks or months but for the entire year. Choose activities that you genuinely enjoy and variety is the key!
What’s your goal for 2019?
To continue to lead a happy and healthy life.....I still live by the motto ‘everything in moderation’ so balance is extremely important to me.....I love to train but I also enjoy a fresh croissant in the morning or a glass of red wine with dinner.
My training goals for 2019 include trying to master a chin up and getting my running back to where it used to be.
